PROXIMITY was inspired during a visit to the Musée de Cluny in Paris in 1998. The quantity of tactile objects struck me that museums in the U.S. didnt have much to offer the visually impaired community. Our goal since then has been to change that.

Matt Gesualdi, with a background in Industrial Design and teaching in Higher-Education, has produced a variety of products and art pieces. For more than 20 years he has worked with people who are blind and visually impaired to create tactile exhibits and models.
